CHARACTER NAME: Sora
CANON & HISTORY: Kingdom Hearts; Wiki page for Sora over here!
AGE: 15
CANON POINT: Post-Kingdom Hearts II, after reading Mickey's letter and receiving the Wayfinder from Kairi.
PERSONALITY:
Sora is, essentially, a hero type with a heart of gold. He talks about his friends being his power, he tends to charge headstrong into danger, and he's always looking to help the people around him, no matter what. Through and through, Sora is a strong light within the series, and that light rarely wavers.

"I've become a part of their heart, just as they've become a part of mine."

First and foremost, his friends mean a great deal to him. Even when the world is looking dim and he's having to deal with the troubles of many other people, his friends always remain on his mind — he spends the majority of his overall journey throughout the series searching for them, refusing to stop until he's finally with them again in the end of Kingdom Hearts II. Next to his desire to save the people of each world and ultimately defeat the big bads, his search for his friends is a huge driving force in his journeys. Even despite Riku's body appearing as Ansem, upon reuniting with him, he still treats him like his best friend, ignoring his appearance for the person he knows is inside. Nothing can keep him from his friendships, as he's an intensely loyal person — the kind who would stick with someone to the end, no matter the hurdles.

But it's not only his best friends who matter to him, but those he hardly knows, as well. He only meets most Disney characters for brief periods of time, when he's with them in their worlds, but he still considers all of them good friends and would do anything to help them out — which is exactly what he tends to do. While he has the overarching plot to deal with (the big bads, finding his friends, etc.), each Disney world he visits, of which there are many, tends to have the smaller story of him somehow helping each of the characters overcome what they're dealing with, as well.

He very much puts others above himself, going so far as to throw his dignity or even his life away if it means it'll save someone important to him. In Kingdom Hearts I, he stabs himself in the heart with a Keyblade without hesitation (wearing a smile, even), in order to free Kairi's heart from him, which of course results in his temporarily becoming a Heartless. And while looking for Kairi in Kingdom Hearts II, to prove how much she means to him, he gets down on his hands and knees in order to beg an Organization member for her whereabouts. Even in the end of the second game, when he's stuck in the Realm of Darkness, he's able to smile at the thought that the Realm of Light and its inhabitants are safe.

His sense of justice is very strong — in line with his desire to help others, he does so without expecting anything in return. He doesn't want to be known far and wide, or anything else someone might do good deeds for. He does what he does purely out of the kindness of his heart. He's even capable of putting aside his own goals in order to help those around him instead. When given the chance to leave and continue searching for Kairi and Riku, he instead stays behind (against King Mickey's wishes, no less) in order to help with the fighting.

Due to all this, he tends to bring out the strength in those around him. He can help people get over their own personal problems — things he can't directly help them with because they have to solve it on their own. He recognizes when others have to deal with their problems themselves — when it's not his place to fix it for them, or he's unable to do so. During the events in the Pride Lands, when Simba is down and doubting himself and his ability to lead the pride, Sora gets a little harsh with him, going so far as to tell him to stop moping and do something. While Sora isn't often harsh with those he considers friends, he won't hesitate to speak his mind when he feels they need a push to live up to their potential. He'll push them to be the best they can be, so that they can conquer their problems themselves, without his direct interference. He even refrained from involving himself with Simba's battle with Scar, even if it could've ended badly — it was Simba's fight.

"I wish I could live life the way you do. Just following my heart."

Sora is, actually, rather naive, both due to his general personality and his upbringing on a small island world (though his travels to different worlds have broadened his horizons). He isn't normally the sharpest tool in the shed and he can often be slow on the uptake or outright fooled by things he shouldn't be. When he first meets Mulan, he doesn't even realize she's a girl disguised as a man, despite all of the suspicious hints dropped, until it's straight up told to him — as Mushu remarks that Sora (and Donald) would fall for anything. This wonderful ability to fall for anything doesn't extend too far, thankfully, as when Sora's dealing with a more serious situation, or his guard is up, he's less likely to let others play him for a fool.

But his naivety doesn't slow him down, as he thinks less with his brain and more with his heart. His actions are more based on impulse rather than calculated plans. He's often running headfirst into situations he hasn't fully thought about, or speaking his mind without considering the situation or his words. He is through and through guided by his heart, and, somehow, it rarely steers him wrong. He may make mistakes, but in the overall scheme of things, his heart generally keeps him on the right path.

Thanks to him following his heart and always trying to do what's best, he can sometimes land himself in unfavorable situations or go against what others are telling him to do. This even goes to the point of disobeying King Mickey — rather than doing what he's told and leaving a situation right in front of him to Mickey so that he can escape and work on other important issues, Sora (with the help of Donald and Goofy) charges forward to help out anyway — but not before apologizing. He can recognize when he's wrong, has made a mistake, or should just apologize for his actions (like disobeying what someone else has asked of him), and he never hesitates to do so.

He's an honest kid — he can admit when he's wrong, speak his feelings or thoughts freely, and he rarely lies. Just through his animated body language it's easy to tell that he doesn't hold much back — he's always showing how he feels one way or another. When he's happy, he smiles, when he's angry, he shows it, and anything in between.

Despite his usual happy-go-lucky attitude, he does get frustrated or even angry when it's warranted. He shows his frustration repeatedly when the Organization consistently refers to him as Roxas or talks about him like he's someone else — Sora has a strong sense of self, and it's frustrating when others are treating him so weirdly without any explanation. He doesn't particularly like being kept in the dark, and while he can put off conversations about things for a small while if it seems the other has their reasons, he can get frustrated when someone else knows something he doesn't and is intentionally keeping it from him. He has little patience when it comes to confusing or frustrating things, or dealing with others with highly negative personality traits that hurt others around them, such as selfishness. He can of course show his anger against straight up villains or generally those who've wronged him as well, yelling at Iago for playing both sides even though he was acting like their friend, and egging on Organization members by talking back to them quite often.

For all he goes through, his innocence and childishness still shine through. Again, due to the strength of his heart — the sheer amount of light he has within him — it's difficult to break him. His innocence shows when he sees couples happy together, unable to help smiling himself, but when he's teased about his own feelings by Donald and Goofy, he's quick to turn embarrassed by it. And multiple times he becomes excited at the thought of things that normal boys his age would get excited about — meeting real pirates, for example, despite soon learning that trusting a pirate isn't the best idea. He also jokes about becoming the king of a pack of lions — how cool would that be. Furthermore, his curiosity is an extension of this, as he's the kind of person to love going to new places and experiencing new things. Before he'd ever left Destiny Islands, he dreamt of going out and seeing other worlds, and now that he's doing that, he's enjoying all the new experiences it brings. He's in general a very excitable boy, taking things in strides and seeing the good in situations even if they may look dark.

"Perhaps you should share some of that hatred with Sora. He's far too nice for his own good."

He's always able to see the good in others, as well, even if they've personally attacked him or someone he loves. An unapologetic villain will still be seen as bad through his eyes, but when it's a friend doing something bad, or when a villain does something good, he's able to change his opinion of them for the better. When he believes Riku is Ansem, the villain he defeated in Kingdom Hearts I, due to his body taking that shape, he notices that he helped Kairi. And rather than immediately picking a fight with "Ansem", as most heroes would do with such an enemy, he actually finds it in himself to thank him for helping Kairi. Even despite all the bad he'd caused, Sora is capable of putting that aside to thank him for his good deeds. In addition, Sora doesn't hold Riku's actions from Kingdom Hearts I against him — despite having to fight against him so much, Sora is still able to confidently refer to him as his best friend, treating him as he normally would. He's skilled at seeing the good in people and reserving or changing his judgement of them when necessary. Many throughout the series find his kindness to be a flaw, as it could easily leave him open to pain, but Sora proves that he's capable of using this aspect of his personality positively.

He may not seem it, but he understands things far more deeply than he lets on. He's very sympathetic towards the struggles of others, and he does his best to be aware of everything he can in a given situation. Despite this, he'll be the last person to give a complicated solution to a complicated problem — again, he's led by his heart, rarely thinking his actions through, and thus when presented with something complicated, he tends to act in simple ways that are very befitting of who he is (which makes him easy to predict by those who know him well). Even when Riku is worried about facing everyone back home after giving in to the darkness, when he asks Sora how he'll do that, Sora's only response is to give him a silly face and tell him "like this".

Sora is confident and courageous, and rarely ever doubts himself. The main time that doubt enters his mind is when the Organization plants its seeds purposefully, telling him that his defeating Heartless is actually helping them bring about Kingdom Hearts. If something that's helping people can directly cause something bad, it's generally the one time he can start to doubt his actions — because it forces him to weigh the situation and find the best way to do good. Still, he doesn't dwell on it for an overly long time, and continues moving forward with what he feels is right. Aside from that, he tends to be very confident and will even pick fights with Organization members when the time doesn't call for it. He's generally unafraid to face his opponents, and thanks to the amount of competition he had with Riku as a child, he's always ready to test his skills — you won't see him all that nervous to do so.

He's certainly grown a lot over the series, from a childish, naive young boy looking for his friends, to a more determined boy who has more of an idea of what he needs to do. He's matured into someone who's more sure of himself and his abilities — someone who, while still retaining his light-heartedness, is able to be serious and strong when the situation calls for it. He understands far more than he did in the beginning of the series — about the worlds, their people, and the various kinds of situations he can be faced with in life.

But, overall — no matter how much he's put through — he remains himself at the core — kind, strong-willed, and guided by his heart.

"You gotta try and think positive."

POWERS:
First and foremost, Sora is able to summon and wield a Keyblade. A Keyblade is a key-shaped sword capable of defeating Heartless and unlocking basically anything with a keyhole (it is a key, after all).. And while it's especially useful with Heartless, it's also a capable weapon when fighting any other being as well, despite its apparent bluntness. He's capable of summoning and de-summoning his Keyblade at will, and it also cannot be taken from him, as he can poof it back into his possession.

In addition, he's capable of magic — fire, blizzard, thunder, cure, magnet, and reflect (as well as their more powerful -a and -ga versions, which just up their power or area of effect). They're various spells which allow him to attack or hinder his opponents, and even heal himself and others of injuries. They consume MP when he uses them, which in a game setting would translate to him only being able to use a few spells at a time before they just plain won't come out anymore until he waits a while.

Fire allows him to create a ring of fire around him to damage opponents.
Blizzard allows him to shoot an ice shard at a single enemy.
Thunder creates lightning that crashes down on an opponent and damages others nearby.
Cure lets Sora heal himself and others within a certain distance around him, though it costs all of his MP to use. (So this would just mean he's incapable of using magic for a while while his MP recovers.) As for the level of healing he's capable of, it depends on whether he uses Cure, Cura, or Curaga, though I would say they can heal between small injuries like bruises or cuts, to larger ones like gashes. Anything bigger (like a broken bone or missing limb) would be impossible for him, though he could likely lessen the pain for a short while.
Magnet pulls enemies in and causes damage to them.
Reflect produces a light barrier around Sora that can protect against all attacks, and if an attack does hit it and is blocked successfully by it, it'll produce small lights that damage enemies they hit as it dissipates.

Sora's clothing also gives him the abilities of Drive Forms. His clothing can change color when conditions are met and increase his combat ability in various ways. The main condition needed to be met for any of the forms involves getting his Drive Gauge up to a certain level, which can be done in various ways, but for the sake of an rp game, will be limited to doing damage to the opponent — after a certain amount of damage is dealt, he'll be capable of changing into an available form. Once in the form, the gauge depletes, and he returns to his normal self — which just means his form change is temporary and relatively short.

Valor Form allows him to gain speed and strength, specializing in physical attacks and taking away his ability to use spells. He can also use two Keyblades in this form. Sora requires Goofy with him to use this form.
Wisdom Form restricts him to use the use of spells, changing his normal attacks to magic bullets that come from his Keyblade, while powering and speeding up his spell casting. He also glides across the ground while in this form. Sora requires Donald with him to use this form.
Limit Form is a form which lets him use abilities — Limit commands in particular — that he could use in the first game. It's more about the attacks he can use in it rather than a specific upping of certain stats. However, his magic is replaced with said Limit commands and thus he cannot cast spells or heal, though doing damage with the Limit attacks heals a little health. This form is the only form he can use while alone, not requiring a specific party member to be with him.
Master Form is a combination of Valor and Wisdom, allowing him to specialize in both physical and magical attacks. It requires both partners to be with him.
Final Form is basically a stronger version of Master Form, and also requires both party members to utilize.
Anti Form activates randomly when Sora tries to enter the other forms. It basically turns him into a wild Heartless, without his Keyblade, and the only thing he becomes able to do is attack incredibly quickly and wildly. He's unable to guard, cast spells, recover HP, etc.
OTHER: nothing really!

GAME INFO;

MAGIC ABILITY: He can create a floating, golfball-sized ball of light, which has the burning properties of fire and its floating movement can be controlled at will.
PRICE: The Wayfinder he was given by Kairi.
ACCLIMATION: An 8 or so, easily. Sora is the type who takes everything thrown at him head-on and tries to make the best of it. There will of course be some confusion over things, as well as missing his friends, but in terms of how well he can adjust to a situation and deal with it, he's pretty high up. He's also been to a variety of worlds with different rules, and just rolled with it.
